I live with my husband near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I’ve adopted his family as my own and manage to have (for the most part) avoided being the evil step-mother. Not so hard, since his kids are grown with families of their own.
Through the pandemic, I started writing again. It had always been my plan to go back to writing full time once I retired. Turns out, there’s no time like the present.
I split my time slaving away at the keyboard or heading out to he beach, where I’ve been known to tuck my phone in my bra strap and dictate while wading in the shallows. Note: speech to text does some pretty astounding things to the story you’re trying to tell. Seriously, it’s like autocorrect gone wild! Some day’s I’ll just record my plot points on a speech recorder and transcribe when I get home.
Writing has always been a natural outlet for me, a therapy of sorts. It gives me the chance to play with the ‘what-ifs’ and make them have a happy ending. It’s a little nerve-wracking to put my words out there again, so be gentle. Eh?
